PixoPal Story: How We Became What We Are Today!

As I pen this piece, Pixopal is well on its way to establishing itself as a global operation-as-a-service platform for photo editing. It has also been earning recognition and accolades as a pioneering talent-as-a-service platform, which is completely driven by the talent and zeal of the global freelancing community. At this juncture, when I look back at the vision what we call Pixopal today, I am unable to believe how far we have come today and of the immense possibilities that the future still holds.

Starting at the Beginning

Pixopal was conceptualized in 2015 when a team of e-commerce professionals found that the biggest challenge most e-commerce vendors and photo-studios faced had to do with the time of editing their product images. We found that while the demand for quality photo was growing by leaps and bounds, this demand was often sporadic, especially for the consumer goods and fashion apparel sectors that follow season-dictated product cycles. This made hiring a full-time photo editing staff unviable for most vendors and for photo-studios. On the other hand, while freelance talent was available abundantly, vendors and business owners were still concerned that hiring freelance talent meant introducing variations in the quality of the final photographs. There was also the pervasive notion that these photo editors were unprofessional and inadequately trained.

A Picture-perfect Solution

This led us to arrive at Pixopal, a comprehensive editing service that would provide e-commerce companies, fashion houses, and other clients a reliable, cost-effective means to create compelling visual imagery. This, in turn, would empower them to better market their brand and boost their bottom lines.

PixoPal is a revolutionary photo-editing platform that connects business owners and marketers with freelance editing talent, in order to edit a high volume of images in just a few hours. Powering PixoPal is a pool of more than 500+ freelance photo editors, who work around the clock to meet the exacting expectations of our clients. Our service applies principles of automation and LEAN business to further improve the productivity and throughput of our photo editors. For business owners, photo studios and marketing managers, PixoPal offers a secure channel to leverage the talent of freelance photo editors, while mitigating risks pertaining to the quality and efficiency of their services.

Through PixoPal, we offer freelance photo editors a reliable platform to tap the burgeoning demand for their services, and to explore, exploit and develop their talent and skills while also boosting their income. Today, freelancers are PixoPal’s USP and they help us to serve a number of clients around the world. Outsourcing Company or A Freelancer: Why PixoPal Loves Freelancers?

Many a time, as a client, you often land up in a dilemma in which you cannot decide if you should hire an outsourcing company for the betterment of your business or not. Sometimes, you face a lot of problems with timelines and you can’t decide if you really need that particular outsourcing company or not, or can that work be done in-house, or do you need freelancers?

Freelancers – the term which has recently popped out in today’s business environment – are individuals who work from home, coffee shop, parks, you name it. Freelancers, though casual, work as a professional and work really hard to deliver what you have been expecting from them.

Outsourcing companies – some established and some start-ups – with graffitis on their walls, bottles of beers laying on the side table, and a bunch of creative staff may promise you to deliver the creative content and perfectly edited images which your client has been expecting from your company but, believe me, however creative they may say they are but they still work from their offices, meet limited sets of people.

While freelancers work from wherever they want to work, they meet a lot of new people in the pursuit of their work. Freelancers work from the perspective of a client who is creative and drafts your project in such a way that your company gets and adjective of awesome-sauce.

Why are Freelancers better than Outsourcing Companies?

PixoPal’s community of freelance photo-editors

The very first thing which a company sees while planning their project is the budget. Outsourcing companies are said to be cost-effective when it comes to the in-house team. But freelancers are very cost effective and deliver their tasks on time. You will not have to struggle to meet deadlines.

Freelancers know what is expected of them and they work according to that only. Having worked for more than just your company, freelancers get a global look at every work they do.

There isn’t just one thing; there are many things which make us love freelancers more!

Art of Persuasive Photo Editing

It is one of the common believes that photography is only for those people who own a talent to capture the images perfectly. Yet, another way of looking at it is to see photography as one of the characteristics that a human possesses. Photography isn’t a tough task if you know about lights and angles.

Anyone can click a wonderful image, using a phone camera or a DSLR, but editing images to make it perfect for industry standards is a real job. Many of our clients have written to me and my colleagues at PixoPal asking about post processing services (
Jewellery retouching services, product photography editing services, Product Photography Retouch, etc) for they believe we are good at doing that. Thanks, people.

In this post, today, I am going to share a few pointers on what product photography is. And how persuasive photo editing important in every field of industry.

One of the branches of commercial photography, product photography, is all about showcasing a product accurately yet attractively. The principal application of product photography is in catalogs and brochures. Product photography is also very important and very useful in advertising.

Out of many challenges that a photographer faces, to represent the product without distortion; to represent the product in good lighting, with soft shadows and no identifiable reflections; and to photo-edit a range of products rapidly, one at a time, so that the shadows, lights, and background are consistent are the challenges that are faced by every photographer. All these points which I have already talked about above are keys to persuasive photo – editing.

Here are the key factors that are really very important for persuasive photo-editing:

  1. Branding:

Branding is creating a unique image for a product in the consumers’ mind. Good branding will differentiate your company from others in the e-commerce field and create a significant presence that will attract and retain customers.

If your products are clicked perfectly in a good light and at the right angle, then half of your work is done. The other half of the work totally depends upon the photo-editing and content writing; for selling a product online, a seller needs to establish itself as a brand – and for that, it is really very important to have right sense of photo-editing and copy write the descriptions and titles of the products after knowing your audience.

  1. Wordings:

Like I have already written in the point above, content writing is one of the significant key factors that is responsible for selling your products online. It is really very important to copy write (persuasive writing) all your products’ descriptions and titles. Know your audience, analyze them, and write according to the keywords that are searched a lot. It sounds easy, right? But, believe it isn’t. Using a keyword is a treacherous task and one can lose a lot with this factor.
Use right keywords in the content for your e-commerce descriptions and titles and win hearts of your customers.

  1. Imagery:

Images are the first thing customer notices while buying products online. Well, I won’t say a lie. Products which are clicked well, sell more. Don’t they?

Yes, images for the e-commerce selling should have all of their focus on the product. Any little distortion in the image – such as color disorder, wrinkles, blemishes, and spots can affect the sales and the name of the brand ultimately.

Always, keep in mind to put a nice flawless high key image of your products online.

So, now you know what you need to do next, go and do your thing.

It is pretty straight: draw you best version of a fish, say, and the auto-suggestion feature of this web-tool will guess the possible shapes for your doodle. Then, you can choose the doodle which best depicts your doodle.

Pro View:

It is fun and one of the most efficient ways to do the clipart activity. With all the layouts set, colour options, text, sizing and the self-draw feature and options; you can quickly get related results for your masterpiece.

Cynical view:

Just another clip art collection to the collection of Google. At this very moment, it looks more like a google’s way to showcase the technology of Artificial Intelligence and use your activity for data mining.
